Hollywood Regency Wall Unit

My Husband and I found this amazing wall unit while " treasure hunting" last week ( also known as going to estate sales ) It's pretty unlike any other wall unit i've been able to come across. It is very versatile ... the style of the piece is Mid Century Modern ( very minimalist ) , but the chuncky black metal looks Machine Age Industrial , Then there is the Fluer De Lis tops which make it almost shabby chic French... hmmm ... what are you ?

A Vintage wedding ...

ABOVE: The bride & groom driving away in a 1950's Bentley

A few months ago I attended a good friend of mine's wedding in Kansas City. Their wedding was everything you hope a wedding would be, a big church, a stunning bride, a dashing groom & a huge happy family. It took place on the second story of a 100 yr old factory in downtown... brick walls, hardwood floors & modern plumbing ;). Here are some of the pictures, I hope they inspire you like they inspired me ...

A piece has a past...

One of the many reasons I love vintage is because of it's charm and the knowledge that there must be a story behind each piece. Like this lovely 1940's era WWII dress ( http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=27029617) ... did a dashing dame wear it to a fall wedding in 1949 while wearing bold red lipstick & issued out stockings? Who knows ? All I know is that is the charm & mystery of it all...

a glimpse of sparkle

This is pretty intimidating, i've got to admit...
My first entry. Who will read this anyways? Other style/vintage/decorating/deal making obsessed girls like myself? I guess only time will tell. I have a feeling my husband Ryan may take a little while to get used to the fact that his wife is a blogger... if is that what I am to be called now? oh la la...

Above : This is my wonderful husband and I as we were leaving our wedding in Nov, now you know what I look like and where the inspiration for the blog title came from... all from a snapshot in time by the oober talented Melissa Young
